Last week was the most eventful week accounting the many events that happened together with other anecdotes of my own in the ministry aspect.
In deed having to wake up early in the morning every single say was really a crucifixion of the flesh, but it was more than worth since Pst Tan shared with us Word that helped us to understand the way of God.
Events:
1) CoGL meeting with Pastor Art Sepulvada
2) Daily morning prayer
3) Songs of Solomon
4) Celebrity weekend
Every single as stated above had been inspiring and impacting, of which I would like to bring to attention the Celebrity weekend.
Celebrity that showed up: Marlucas, FIR, Milk, Ocean Ou De Yang, Vanness Wu Jian Hao, Liu Geng Hong, Vivi Wang, ICL Dance troupe, Jacelyn Tay, Ms Indonesia, Ms Celeste Foo & Ms Asia, Alan Moo.
Behind every celebrity is a testimony of their own. It became especially vivid when they revealed their darkest moments which exposed their most vulnerable time in the entertainment world.
Ah Qing, FIR, mentioned that being a celebrity, he faced a lot of dilemma because in the entertainment industry he at first felt ashamed because there was little or no encouragement. There were times of dilemma when people on his left and right are lying, to climb the charts or to grab fame and popularity. Until the cultural mandate was preached, he then felt that he knew what he was called to—being the salt and the light of the world, making an impact through their songs.
Ms Indonesia, went beyond more than just beauty, she literally became the Word preached to the world. Having faced the temptation of free sex in which all the other models are lured into just to get a title for themselves, she brought forth the anointing and the power of God into her career. Like Sun, she went around doing good, and her heart is just 100% for God and His people.
Vaness who used to be a backslider, was touched by God once again and returned for the glory of God. He too emphasized the loss and emptiness facing a artiste, the fallen down humanity in the entertainment industry and the struggles he faced.
On a personal opinion, I feel that God will not call the person unless he/she is prepared for it. Of course there are millions who claimed to be called because of their own desire not for the Lord, ended up off course.
Matt5:13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
Matt20:16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”
Having chosen the path that God has directed, there bound to be challenges and difficulties too. Nonetheless its the narrow way, not the broad way. Narrow way means it takes consecration, discipline, effort.
Pst Phil ever mentioned that Pst Kong & Sun, walking the will of God, decided to cross over and brought forth the cultural mandate, is like a seed being sown into the ground. The seed first must die in order to live. But out of this seed that died, spring forth fruits and fruits that remain. Is it tough? Yes it is.
Are there attacks? Yes, there are. Countless.
Tired? Feel like giving up? Of course.
Why still continue?
Heb12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Because they saw the joy and the promise upon carrying that cross.
Recently was talking to one of my good friends, Rick, who was called and chosen to shine in KPMG. Personally very inspired by his faith. Like Kai Shen says, Rick is a CAN-DO man. Awesome attitude. Having chosen this path, there were numerous sacrifices made namely family, relationship, friendship, and the time when he could just come to enjoy church services. I bet there were times he had to grit his teeth through those seasons when he was alone in China, Indonesia, facing through the pressure in the market place. Battles were fought alone together with God, and the battles were won. Yet wherever he goes, he always lean on God, always try his best to stay close to God. Was it tough? Of course it is. But God has handpicked this man of faith, for without faith it is impossible to please him.
My dear friend, just want you to know, we are all so proud of you! =) You are not alone.
